Project Overview

Sensitive improvements to a historic Sheffield churchyard

The works at St James the Great Church, Norton focused on enhancing the setting of this historic building while improving the quality and functionality of its surrounding landscape. The project balanced heritage sensitivity with practical improvements to create a welcoming environment for the local community.

Killingley enhanced the existing landscape through new turfing, planting and improved drainage, helping manage surface water effectively while refreshing the appearance of the church grounds and supporting long-term sustainability.

In addition, a small building extension was delivered, featuring timber cladding and a zinc-plated roof. The contemporary materials complement the church fabric, providing a durable, low-maintenance addition that sits comfortably within its historic setting.
