Project Overview

A greener gateway into Crewe town centre

The Crewe Southern Gateway scheme is a key regeneration project improving pedestrian and cycle connections between the southern approaches and Crewe town centre. The scheme enhances accessibility, safety and the overall quality of the public realm, creating a more welcoming arrival into the town.

Killingley was appointed by principal contractor Taylor Woodrow to deliver the soft landscaping works. New trees, shrubs and planting areas soften the streetscape and improve visual character throughout the scheme.

Biodiversity has been enhanced through the use of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), including rain gardens that manage surface water runoff while creating habitats for pollinators and urban wildlife. Killingley’s involvement ensures the landscape elements support long-term biodiversity, sustainable drainage and environmental resilience within the Southern Gateway scheme.
