Wendover Woods Landscaping
NT Killingley have recently commenced on a large car park construction and café area landscaping at Wendover Woods, working on behalf of Kier for one of our longstanding clients, the Forestry Commission.
The £1.3million pound scheme will see all 3 departments working on site concurrently and will be a great opportunity to showcase how effectively our multi-departmental working improves a work site.
Completing what will be the flagship car park for the FC, the existing play areas have been relocated and the development will see the creation of around 450 parking bays including disabled parking and electric vehicle charging areas. A new vehicle access route is being formed to create a one-way system within Wendover Woods.
Pedestrian footpaths are being enhanced, providing disability friendly surfaces suitable for all weathers.
The new café, due to be completed in the Autumn of 2018 will see all external works completed by NT Killingley including gabion retaining walls and block paving.
The whole area will have improved soft landscaping to increase the visual impact.
Already 3 weeks into the contract the initial site clearance works have been completed and the earthworks operation is well underway.
