Work Begins on 90 Acre Country Estate

NT Killingley Ltd has started the first phase of a large multi-disciplinary scheme at a large country house in Yorkshire.

The year-long project will see extensive remodelling and landscaping of the 90-acre site.  The Grade II Listed country house dates back to mid 18th century on a site that had previously been a private estate since the 1400s.

The first phase comprises a total site clearance to remove dead trees and overgrown bushes. Existing lakes in the grounds will be dredged and cleaned to re-establish the flows between them and encourage new wildlife habitats. Mature hedgerows will be planted around the estate boundary.

The original sweeping carriage driveway will be realigned to take advantage of the vistas provided by the parkland, amenity trees and lakes. These will be complemented with self-binding gravel paths providing access around the whole estate.

During further phases, the existing lawns leading from the house to the lakes will become ornamental gardens. The existing walled garden will be extensively redesigned to create a formal planting area and tennis courts.

NT Killingley have been appointed as the sole contractor,  utilising all of their in-house capabilities to provide the greatest visual impact to the most detailed and complex design. A multi-award winning contractor, NT Killingley, received a Principle BALI Award in 2017 for a large country estate in the category of Domestic Garden Construction - Soft Landscaping - Unlimited Cost.
