The Killingley Big Drop

On the 5th September  17 people from NT Killingley will be taking a leap into the unknown and fly up to 13,000ft to perform a tandem skydive.

We have chosen 2 very worthy charities that provide support and assistance to those in the construction industry at times of great need.

Mates in Mind is a construction industry mental health charity. In construction more workers die by suicide than by falls and 1 in 6 of us has a mental health problem such as stress, anxiety or depression, yet 1 in 5 fears that disclosure could cost us our job.

Mates in Mind aims to raise awareness, address the stigma of poor mental health and improve positive mental wellbeing in the UK construction industry. Mates in Mind has an ambitious goal – to reach 75% of the construction industry by 2025. It is led by and for the industry in partnership with the Health in Construction Leadership Group and British Safety Council, as well as with other leading organisations and charities such as Mind, Samaritans and Mental Health First Aid England.

The Lighthouse Club are the only charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families who have suffered an injury or long-term illness or simply need a helping hand. The work they do provides an essential lifeline to those in need at a time of crisis. They also provide counselling for mental health issues.

Nerves are already starting to show themselves in the office and on site so if you would like to help in supporting these worthy charities and you can donate online: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/TheBigKillingleyDrop
