Cudworth Common formed part of the extensive colliery tip network around Grimesthorpe and Cudworth.Cudworth Common was a heavily contaminated colliery site which required ameliorating using 20-30 t excavators to mix composted sewage cake and lime to a depth of 900mm.This was followed by the installation of extensive paths from crushed and screened on-sitematerial.Seeding and woodland planting completed the project.The scheme is followed by three years maintenance.
