Hard Landscaping - National Memorial Arboretum
Contract Name: National Memorial Arboretum
Contract Value: £ 250 000
Form of Contract: JCT
Client: Rothera Goodwin
Dates: 2006
The NMA needed ornamental timber fences to their carparks, gabion retaining walls, a cedar roofed entrance feature, extensive path installation in breedon gravel and soft landscaping. The project also included memorial installations, such as part of the old Burma railway and various relics from WWII POW camps.

Jerry Tseng, Designer: “Absolutely delighted with the marvellous job we did for him on the Arboretum.Any problems with regard to the pricing, budget and tender were all dealt with efficiently and co-operatively by the Quantity Surveyor and a good working relationship has been formed. The Contracts Manager was efficient to work with and the foreman at site was excellent; very self reliant and uses his initiative and responds well to changes by the client whilst achieving the programme. It’s good to find a company so competent at hard landscaping to accommodate his landscape linked architectural designs.”
